In 2012 Samsung RealD 3-D computer monitors might be released

Since the active shutter technology is placed inside the display, standard low cost RealD passive glasses can be used when watching 3-D material.
These new Samsung 27 inch and 23 inch computer monitors that use RealD technology sound interesting. Having a 27 inch computer monitor that allows one to watch 3-D Blu-ray movies with passive glasses at a full 1080P resolution for each eye would be ideal. Seating one to two feet from the 27 inch screen should offer a good 3-D effect. Also some 3-D Notebook monitors are being developed for a possible future release.

I am hoping that the new 3-D computer monitors will use 144Hz RealD technology for a flicker free performance without 3:2 pulldown issues (72Hz each eye). There is a possibility that these new 3-D computer monitors might use 120Hz with 60HZ 3-2 pulldown judder for each eye. Especially since computer based Blu-ray player software already uses 3:2 pulldown already.

“RealD and Samsung Electronics LCD Business have completed a license agreement to make available to consumer electronics manufacturers panels featuring a new jointly developed 3D display technology, which delivers full resolution 3D images to each eye utilizing RealD 3D cinema glasses. Introduced in January 2011 at CES, panels are expected to be available for PC monitors in 23-inch and 27-inch sizes by early 2012 and for TVs in 55-inch size after the commercialization of PC monitors.”
