hey everyone well i recently bought a Atlantic Technology 2400 5.0 Speaker set for a great price of $700 and want to know if anyone on this forum has them or has had experience with them. I already got some opinions from AVS Forum but i just wanna get some more before i open them and keep em.
I was about to get Polk Monitors 70, Cs2 and Monitors 40s before i bought the Atlantic set. Just wanna know some more opinions if I made the right choice. I have a Yamaha rx667 receiver and am upgrading from a Onkyo HTIB speaker set. I will be upgrading the sub to a Epik Legend sub. The Atlantic 2400 original price is $1800, here is the link: http://www.acousticsounddesign.com/c...pid=1932&sc=27 Also is it alright to use my current Onkyo HTIB sub as a second sub with the Epik Legend as a primary sub? |

Congratulations on your new speakers. It appears that you bought them at a very good price.
I don't have any personal experience with Atlantic Technology speakers, but I know that they are pretty good speakers. The Audioholics Store is a major dealer in them. http://store.audioholics.com/section...eaker-packages http://store.audioholics.com/section...tower-speakers http://store.audioholics.com/section...shelf-speakers http://store.audioholics.com/section...annel-speakers http://store.audioholics.com/section...round-speakers http://store.audioholics.com/section/20/1/subwoofers http://store.audioholics.com/section...-wall-speakers |

In a short period of time, Polk will market ultra high-end speakers. The advanced buzz from the Consumer Electronic show is very positive. https://forum.blu-ray.com/speakers/1...-speakers.html As far as the HTIB subwoofer is concerned, it depends. If it is of reasonable quality, you may want to use it as a second subwoofer. You can try it and see if you like the results. Last edited by Big Daddy; 05-12-2011 at 07:13 AM. |

I know the polks would have better bass as they are bigger but does having a higher watt level peak mean higher sound quality? |

Higher power level simply means the speaker can take a lot of power and play at loud volume levels without any damage to the drivers. It doesn't say anything about the sound quality. There are some delicate speakers with ribbon tweeters that do not have very high power tolerance, but their sound is heavenly. Some of these speakers have very high efficiency and do not really need a lot of power. Even at low power levels, they sound pretty loud. In general, the sound quality has nothing to do with power tolerance or efficiency. There are other factors that control the quality of sound. Last edited by Big Daddy; 05-13-2011 at 05:16 AM. |
