I have the Polk PSW10(black).. had it for about a year or so and I have no complains, its not most powerful sub on the market but it gets the job done, you may have to tinker with it a bit but it work flawlessly.

I say the Polk Wingman if it is one or the other.

I noticed that the Yamaha is magnetically shielded while the Polk isn't. Does that make any real difference?

I’ve heard the polk and for $100 bucks it’s not bad don’t know about the yam so I’ll just say the polk for that reason. Why are you set on just those two if I may ask?

Those are the two cheapest priced subs they have. Actually, I might just get the Polk from newegg.

+1 for the Polk, it can go a little lower and higher 35-200hz.
