Pre-order is up on Amazon for The Middle Earth Complete Collection Extended Editions, looks like the limited edition collectors edition has been entered as DVD by mistake. There is also a listing for The Theatrical Editions.

Release date 31st October 2016

Middle Earth Collection (Extended Edition) - Blu-ray

Middle Earth Collection (Limited Collectors Edition) - Blu-ray

If I didn't already own them all I would 100% pick up the standard collection of all six films, althoughhh i might trade in my old copies depending if the packaging is something special, come on Warner you want my money? Do your worse

The Extended Edition set (non-limited) says in product description "Soft side-load slipcase with foil and 6 Black Elite Cases. Also includes a 28-page special features booklet."

Depressing news if this means they refuse to release 5-disc Blu-Rays of Two Towers and ROTK, because that's what I and so many others need to complete their collection.

Sounds like a version of the boxsets that the EE of LOTR and Hobbit came in.

They were released, just in seemingly very low quantities as they go for extortionate prices.

If I only had FOTR and wanted the other two I would just sell it and buy the Trilogy set...

Would buy the theatrical boxset if they were new transfers. The LOTR films should look amazing but TFOTR is incredibly underwhelming and TTT could look better. TROTK looked pretty great though, if I recall correctly.

I already own the extended versions of all six films but I would quite like to have the theatrical versions as well, especially for the Hobbit films which were difficult enough to get through as they were before being extended.

So I might pick up that theatrical set.
The price is fairly reasonable but I might wait six months or so until it drops a bit.
Maybe once it has dropped to about £20.

I'd be interested in those but as far as I was aware, the UK only got these 2-disc sets for Two Towers and King :

would love the ltd set but the price tag just does not seem worth it for what it is.

still get the 30 discs with the standard version so ill stick to that.

Amazon has two listings now:

1. states it being DVD, but images are clearly the BD set (don't think it will be released in a DVD only version:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LTHMP3M/

2. states it being BD, and also has another and higher price
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MCVHVQB/

The thing is I pre-ordered as soon as Amazon listed it. But at the time there was only the "DVD" listing. I'm scared that I have pre-ordered something wrong?

Anyone?

1: would be for the boxset only at £31.99:

When you click on the price, it takes you to the "Middle Earth - Six Film Theatrical Version [Blu-ray] [2016]" boxset.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Middle-Eart...=UTF8&qid=&sr=

2: is the kit and caboodle for £469.74.

This Amazon listing is for the 6-movie extended Blu-ray box set, for £64.99 (if that's what you're looking for?).
