Default Gallery edit functions not working properly.

Hello Blu-ray.com

When I try to edit my gallery, this is the error message I'm getting:

Quote:
You need to enable JavaScript in your browser for the My home theater functions to work properly.
Here's the problem with that error? My JavaScript for my browser is enabled! I'm using Windows based Safari. I've never encountered that issue before.

But I've also encountered issues being able to reposition photos in either one of my galleries.

Your assistance is appreciated.

We have recently optimized our javascript library to speed up the loading time, so this is most likely our fault. I've made some changes, so please try again and see if it works now

Hello Iceman.

Still a NOGO on the editing in the gallery. I did check my setting to make sure java script was enabled. I even softened the security protocols/levels for my firewall,.... still getting the error message:

Please keep your browser settings, I'm 99.9% certain something is off on our end. How about now?

Unfortunately, the same conclusion.

I'm on a different computer now and the editing feature works fine.
But, I 'm still using Windows-based Safari with the same settings. Weird!

Thanks for your help Iceman.

That is weird... is there any difference between the Safari versions?

Not that I know of. But what's crazy is today, the editing feature works fine.
It must have required a reboot of my computer to allow the changes/mods you made on your end to take hold. Anyway, thanks again! You're the man!

But, here's the other issue. when I try to move a photo to another position within the same gallery, no matter what position I assign the photo to, once I click "update", the photo is positioned in a completely different location than I picked in the gallery. When I try to move it, it stays in the new position that the program decided to choice for the photo and I can't move it no matter where I assign the photo to go within the same gallery. Now if I want to move the photo to a different gallery, that works with no problem. But in regards to the program abiding by the order I want the photos in, it's a nogo.

Here's the confusing part. When I go to my "The Evolution" gallery, and try to make an adjustment in the order of the photos, how should I reference the numbered position? For instance, the Sony BDP-S5000ES in doubled box photo is the 1st photo in the said gallery. Is that considered the 1st position or do I have to include all of the photos in my gallery and figure out what numbered position the Sony photo is actually in when including all the photos of all 4 galleries?

I hope I articulated my inquiry so that my quandary is understandable and a solution can be established.

Thanks again.

Ah, excellent! Yes, that's my guess as well, I probably fixed the problem yesterday, but your browser had cached the old buggy code.

The edit interface is not ideal (especially in the repositioning aspect) and there are also different "Display order" drop-downs depending on if you have attached HT gear to the images. The first "Display order" below the "Folder" drop-down is the one you want to change. When you are repositioning photos in a gallery, it's easiest to click "Select all" and then "Edit". You can then see the Display order number for all photos and you want to change them so the photo you want first has the lowest number and the photo you want last, has the highest number. It would be much easier if we added arrows that you could just click to push images up/down, but we haven't gotten around to that yet

Iceman! you are the man. Thank you for the sugestion. The crazy thing is, I remember doing that when I first became an member on the site, experimenting with the different functions and I quickly came to the conclusion that this site is so much better (user-friendly) than any other HT site I've visited or been a member of. That's one of the main reasons I stayed! Thanks again! You are the GURU!

Iceman, when Blu-Ray.com first (slowly) loads many (but not all) of the box cover art pics don't load. Instead I get a little white question mark within a little blue box within a bigger white box. Then when I log in, click on "my movies", and try to edit an entry from "Ordered" to "Owned" I get both box cover art problem I first mentioned and the same error message as reported in the first post of this thread. PLEASE HELP!!

I think there are two problems here:
1) The images are not loaded/cached correctly.
2) Javascript error.

About number 2, try clearing your browser cache completely or change browser, what happens then?

UPDATE: I completely cleared my browser and things are now worse. Instead of some box cover art pics displaying none are now displaying.

UPDATE: When I logged out after having posted that last post the box cover art pics started displaying again. So I logged in again to test things and they again displayed as normal. Thanks Iceman!

I've started getting problems too, just checked and my JavaScript hasn't changed. I have reset my browser cache completely, restarted the computer and all was working fine for approx 30 seconds then it started playing up again.

I'm on a Macbook using Safari 5.0.5

This seem to be a Canadian content delivery network problem we are currently experiencing, we are trying to fix a work around solution on the main server, but the Canadian CDN server(s) should hopefully work soon anyway.

You don't seem to have a HT gallery, so I assume you have a problem with the images as well?
