Jane Eyre is also being released in Canada by Alliance. I notice Amazon.ca currently has different graphics for the Canadian blu-ray cover (attached). It's based on the theatrical poster, which I like much better than the graphic for the US blu-ray. Does anyone know if the Canadian release will indeed have the graphic similar to the theatrical poster? Or, is the graphic at Amazon.ca not final?
(Given that Alliance's releases are usually practically identical to the US releases of the same films, I doubt the cover will be different in Canada, but it's always nice to dream, right?) |

I know some of you know the studios really well and the mock up shows no slipcover. Can anyone confirm whether this will likely have one and it's just not pictured in the mock up or if it will likely not have one and look exactly like it does in the OP? Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.

It's superbly directed and very gothic. A lot of adaptations of Jane Eyre are sweeping romances, but this one tries to translate the gothic tone and darkness in Bronte's writing. |

For those interested, in addition to the main director's commentary, there's an easter egg commentary by two friends of his (one of them directed the way too brief EPK featurettes) that can be accessed from the deleted scenes menu. Just keep hitting 'down' on your remote as you go through the list.

For some reason I can't post a review of this disk even though I really am "logged in," so I'm putting my comments here.
This transfer is perhaps--no, for sure--the worst transfer to Blu-ray I have ever seen. Like many subpar transfers, there is throbbing crush is dark scenes, but this disk even has crush even is completely bright ones, as though the movie had been recorded on ASA 50 film stock pushed to ASA 10,000. Then, in another shot, eveything's perfect. Does anyone do any QC on these things?? I thought something might have been wrong with my ancient Sony BD player, but no. The same thing happens on another Blu-ray/TV setup. Movie: 5 Video Rating: 0 Audio: 5 Extras: 1 |
