If you have a surround system, then using a DSP such as PLII or Neo:6 would seem like the way to go.

Most definitely use plII or neo:6 on the DTS MA 2.0 discs.
On Criterion discs, they even take the time to tell you in the notes to use Pro Logic during playback. Never just listen in stereo, unless you do not have any surround capabilities. When you hear an analogue 2.0 print at the theater, they are also using Dolby A/SR (or a similar competetor's system, i.e Kintech or Ultra Stereo) to playback the 2 channel source. PLII produces stereo surrounds while Neo:6 does a mono surround sent to both channels. I prefer the Music mode over Cinema because of the width and depth controls with the Music setting.
