According to ezydvd.com.au this is due for a release on April 6th, 2010

I don't think this has been mentioned, though I found out about it in another thread. Really would like to get this, eager for reviews on the transfer!

Wonderful news. Let's hope that it is a full 1080p release, not 1080/50i.

According to the pre-order page on ezydvd it is 1080p, but no way to know for sure yet (you know how specs on online stores can't always be trusted), so here's hoping!

Yes, that should be a generic listing. So, let's hope for the best, as the film isn't even available on Blu-ray in France.

From this post I found digging around on AVS it seems to be a 1080p24 transfer with burned in English subtitles.

This is one of the worst Blu-ray discs I ever bought. It's just an upconvert from a standard definition source. It doesn't look any better than my German DVD.

Bummer. Not sure why no one is interested in doing an hidef transfer for this.

No disrespect to the above poster, but I picked this up from my local JB in Melbourne for $AU18 and it looks heaps better than my upconverted R4 dvd.

Region free AVC transfer with DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD french soundtracks (bit of a waste to have both). BD50 with bit rate in the low 20's, healthy amount of grain and definite increase in sharpness (close ups) and depth (mid-long shots).

Only downside is no extras and burnt in subtitles (like the R4 dvd).

anyway, I've been wanting a good bd of this film for some time, and am hoping this Icon release is the one.

Well, it has a reversible cover - in French and English

The film looks very good projected.

I really don't know why I though the CAN release was not good, but I guess I should just order it.
the only AUS disc I have ever gotten is Amelie, which looks fantastic.
