Don't know about the Best Buy one - but why not go ahead and get one with a remote control and a bit more expandability for 15 bucks more and RAVE reviews?

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

I've installed one, and at this point, would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Pretty hard to argue with those prices, especially if the word of mouth coming back is all good.

It's funny, I didn't really pay much attention to the size or anything, but when I received the unit for a customer install it was a lot smaller than I was expecting. The remote seems specifically designed to be comfortable in your hand. Ever try using one of those dinky credit-card sized remotes that are impossible to actually hold in your hand?

The box itself is about the size of a paperback book. Not very large. But, it does exactly what you want and expect - 5 HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI output, and zero HDCP issues or sparkles (whatever those are) which have plagued HDMI switchers costing twice, or far more, as expensive.

I personally bury gear like that and recommend a universal remote to control it with an IR repeater of some sort.

Off topic: Recommendations for a universal remote?

I love the remote to my Onkyo DVSP1000, but sadly, I find that it's programmable features are somewhat limited.

Feel free to direct me to a new thread, PM , or whatever. Thanks!

Errr... Well, there are two main routes you can go if you are price concious...

www.harmonyremote.com
or
www.universalremote.com

There are great choices from both companies and both offer PC programmability with not to severe learning curves and tons of Internet support.

If budget is NOT an issue...
www.crestron.com

I have Crestron throughout my home and it is pretty much untouchable. But, I'm doing a fair bit more than an A/V receiver and a plasma at times.

I will probably pick this up when I get the PS3 in November. It's going to be a hell of a wait.
