The current Blu-ray for Total Recall is mediocre at best. When the Total Recall remake starring Colin Farrell comes out next year, they should put out a restored version of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger Total Recall. On a side note, I hope that the Conan the Barbarian & the Destroyer Blu-rays have at least 3 star PQ!!

1. Restored picture
2. Lossless audio (though the DTS HR encode was not bad at all) 3. New bonus features to accompany those from the special edition dvd 4. The absolutely priceless commentay with Arnold and Paul Verehoeven If these are not enough reasons to justify double dipping on Total Recall, then Lionsgate should just close up shop right now. |

They should just not remake Total Recall and give us a remastered Total Recall in a Mars Tin. That's right f*** you Colin Farrell you're a douche, but have no fear morons will come out in droves to see this remake

An AVC encoded transfer based on a 4K master would be nice. Agreed on the remake of TOTAL RECALL/We Can Remember it For you Wholesale. I would've rather another Philip K. Dick story make it to the big screen.

From what I've read, the upgrade in PQ is only somewhat better then the US release. I'll take any improvement I can get, but a full-on restoration of one of Arnold's most successful and beloved movies does not seem like an unreasonable request to a studio that dropped the ball on the previous release (plus, its not like Total Recall has James Cameron slowing down the restoration process like he has for his two Terminator entries).

I'd rather they'd adapt more Philip K. Dick stories into films.

So adapting a novel and not sticking close to the story is okay, but adapting that same novel and do stick close to the source is somehow not okay? Can you elaborate on that?

The movie has already been made and titled Total Recall it came out in 1990 so don't make a movie in 2011 called Total Recall. The only reason they are calling it that is so morons remember the 1990 movie and go "oh yeah I know Total Recall that movie was awesome even though this one might suck balls I'll just go see this one too" All they are doing is using name recognition to get a big box office. It's annoying. Make the movie but call it something else don't use the Total Recall name as your crutch it's a pitiful attempt to dupe people into going to your movie, or into getting the teen crowd excited because they have never heard of Total Recall until now.
