Interesting Emotional Quandary - JJ's HT - Blu-ray Forum

Well, as some of you may or may not know, I'm moving out of my current house in a month. It's been a great run for my HT here, since its inception in September of 2008, almost 3 years. But I'm moving on out and up. Moving in w/ my woman and my younger sister. To a better house which fits everyone's needs.

But to help my landlord out, I listed my current house for lease on the internet. Had families, college kids all come by every now and then. I recently had a family fall in love with it and make a deposit on the spot. Then to my surprise - they wanted to know how much for my ENTIRE HT - down to the rugs, pillows, sofas, posters. I thought about it, then said $15,000. Roughly everything in it ran me around $10-$12k (I've kept a detailed book on each piece I've ever bought, down to the last wire and wall plate).

They said they'd consider it, but the husband and two kids really wanted it, so who knows.

But after they left, I sat down for a moment and thought about it. This HT is about as iconic to Jose as the Mona Lisa to Leonardo. Thousands of people know of it as...mine. I've put countless hours/days of research/labor into making it the incredible unit it is now over the past 3 years. Sure, I'd come off better financially...not to mention the INCREDIBLE HT I could build from the ground up at my new house for $15,000...but I honestly planned to take it all with me. I could buy another 683. Not so much a Kuro or a old-school Dynamo, or the VSX-03. But I could make a projector setup. And more. It's the emotional investment I'm not sure I could deal with. I'm 24. It's been a part of who I am for 3 years. Heck, I havent even bonded with my Camaro as much as I did with my old Galant. Material possessions are big to me, lol.

What do you guys think? Never did I expect this kind of situation to surface. I'm honestly torn between hoping they actually do decide to buy it and hoping they decide not to!

PS. Yes, I came back just to ask for advice. I've been in the car forums too much recently...
