Is Sleeping Beauty OOP? - Blu-ray Forum

I went to three different stores and no one had a single copy of Disney's "Sleeping Beauty." I had heard rumors that it was going out of print...can anyone confirm this?

I beleive in January it went out of print. Your best bet is to buy online if you
can find a copy.

Try Amazon and go from there.

That's wild - just last week they all had multiple copies...then today, all gone. That was fast!

Someone in the know probably bought them to flip them. There's people like you with daughters that are willing to pay $50+, if not now, soon.

they also may have been pulled by orders from Disney.

Amazon has it for 31.50, but if it going out of print, you should act quickly.

Brand new on eBay there are a coulple Buy it Now's for less than $25 shipped.

I got lucky and found a brand new sealed copy that somehow ended up in the used blu-rays section at FYE, a few months ago. Paid $13 for it.

Like others said, back in the vault. But I'd get it ASAP because once the holidays hit it's going to be impossible to find. The Best Buy here still has four or five copies left, but if you want it, get it as soon as you can. Knowing Disney's moratorium, it'll be 5-6 years before it is issued again.

Snow White and Pinocchio are going back into the vault in January, so get those soon too.

Yeah, they've been doing this vault thing since the mid 80s I think....for some titles it works on me, I'm afraid.

Disney's been doing the "Vault" thing since the days of VHS. Its a way to build up demand for the titles again. It isn't that bad considering they let you know in advance when they plan to put the title back into the vault, it isn't like most studios that will delete a low-selling title and you don't know its OOP until it's too late. They are letting us know that if you want Pinocchio and Snow White, we have about three months left and then they're going to be out of print for a few years.

I was astonished to see a couple BD copies of Sleeping Beauty at a local Best Buy last week. I have not seen them on the shelves in quite awhile and thought for sure it had been vaulted once again.

It's a stunning movie on Blu-ray, to be sure!
