Just as a side note, I don't think Aamir likes 3D:

I think it's because Bollywood just had a recent 3D release with Haunted and there are rumors that more 3D movies are in the pipeline. However, nothing has been announced as far as Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman, or Akshay are concerned.

There have been some news reports that SRK and the director of Ra.One are looking at presenting portions of the film in 3D. The problem is that unlike Haunted, this film was only shot in 2D so they would be converting the scenes from 2D to 3D, which probably wouldn't look great.

It seems pointless to pay more to watch some parts like the chase and action sequences in pseudo-3D, when the majority of the movie is 2D.

What is it with this infatuation with Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan too? They're all aged and sagging with nothing fresh to offer in their performances. We'd be seeing a better quality of films if we weren't so obsessed with big names in the cast.

U are correct ^

To all those who loathe Akshay films, and believe his movies are atrocious (as well as believe he is a cause of blu-ray downfall in india - LMAO) did you see "Ready"? If so, did u think it had more substance and sophistication than Akshay's comedies? And would "Ready" be a more worthy of a blu release than the "barrage" of Akshay's blu releases which seems, for some reason, to bother some on this site?

Yes, they are older now, but I feel they've been able to maintain and strengthen their popularity, especially with the masses. For instance, the biggest Bollywood hit of 2007 was Om Shanti Om (Shahrukh Khan). In 2008, the biggest hit was Ghajini (Aamir Khan). In 2009, the biggest hit was 3 Idiots (Aamir Khan). In 2010, the biggest hit was Dabangg (Salman Khan). And if we had to look at 2011 so far, the biggest hit is Ready (Salman Khan). Now I'm not trying to advocate them and, frankly, it would be nice to see some fresh talent, but you can't deny their success and popularity. There's no stopping them until they are rejected by the audiences.

^ those 3 would be STARS for a very long time...Especially so, because AK & SRK only star in 1 film per year...IF that...and very rarely appear in 2 in the same year! So when do actually APPEAR in a movie, it's a big production..their movies ALWAYS MAKE SO MUCH MONEY, not only for the producers but the stars themselves, because they're also producing some/most of the movie themselves through their own production companies. Salman Khan can't say the same...but still he's a huge draw. Unfortunately for SK, he kind of messed up his popularity with the steroid use, ill-advised choices in romantic partners and movie selection. Still, he's a huge draw.

As for Akshay...he's just into making movies and money...for the sake of money...not for the ART of the movie. Look at ALL OF HIS MOVIES for the past 4 years or so...very rarely is he in a GREAT MOVIE...they're all okay or just plain SUCK. Still the masses go out and watch his films...I don't get it. Once I see one of my favourite stars making bad choices in the movies he makes, I won't go see him anymore. Why pay for watching stupidity on the silver screen, when we can certainly watch the smaller-produced films OUTSHINE everything in the theatres because of great acting stories and movies themselves.

As for 3D...why should Indian audiences worry about that, when they (Bollywood film companies) make shitty BluRays...

This may come as a surprise to some of you but it may well be Karishma Kapoor, She has signed her comeback film Dangerous Ishq with Vikram Bhatt which will be in 3D!

dude no hard feelings but i must say all your posts revolve around only 2 points

1-akshay kumar's movies release more on blu ray
dude he does many movies than other big stars....srk and aamir do hardly 1-2 movies a year on the other side he does 4-5 movies......whatever people say about him and his movies....he still is a big actor and works (infacts sinks most of them) in big projects of big producers so it is natural these big production houses release blu rays so many of his movies come on blu rays

and for your information he is working on a movie called JOKER directed by Shirish Kunder which is a 3D movie....

2-jodha akbar is the best movie.....it is the only good indian movie in 2000s etc etc
dude may i ask you how many hindi movies do you watch....we who stay in india watch atleast 20-30 movies a year no doubt jodha akbar is a very very good movie....but why cry for it everywhere.....we who stay in india our culture and up bringing is very different from yours we may like many movies...which you may feel are over the top or melodramic(which we consider emotional and cry over them....but maybe you wont even understand them....common i cant be emotionally attached to a movie....say japaneese which i dont know and iam watching just with english sub titles...the experience will definately be different from a japaneese watching that movie...because it represents his society and culture better....and he will connect to it better than i will)

so what i sujjest is bring variety to your posts which mostly revolve around these two points.....you dont watch or connect with these movies and always talk about ONE movie which uve liked.....common guys in the last decade has india produced only ONE GEM ---- Jodha Akbar???!!!

^ there were MANY great movies in the last decade which put Jodhaa Akbar to shame. JA had big big production values, historically INCORRECT, good actors and a great box office. I agree it was a very good film...but MANY MANY SMALLER films put that film to UTTER SHAME.

Here's one: Maqbool as an example. Life in a Metro another. The Blue Umbrella....and so many others. DON'T ALWAYS think about the BIG movies...because the TRUE gems come from the little people.

Well I hate 3D, I don't like the fact that Hollywood believes its the future. Whenever there is an option of watching a 3D movie in 2D I go for the 2D.

In terms of Bollywood I heard that Haunted was a poor attempt at 3D, Bollywood perhaps thinks that its another money making opportunity copying Hollywood yet again, however there are many like me who believe that 3D is the death of cinema, can you imagine all the classics Hollywood and Bollywood movies being in 3D its because they work fine the way they are.

When it comes to actors making 3D movies in Bollywood, then I doubt that Aamir Khan will ever make one, Salman I believe is making Kick 3D with Sonakshi Sinha and as previously mentioned Akshay is making Joker also with Sonakshi.
Shahrukh might make a 3D movie but not in the near future unless he converts scenes from Ra.One into 3D which I truly hopes he doesnt do.
