I've been looking for a job for a few months and haven't even got a phone call back, until now, haha.
I have an interview at a local TV station for a production assistant position, which I think would be a pretty awesome job for a college kid. The other one is for an unpaid legal assistant volunteer position at the United States Attorney's Office that the defense attorney I use to work for help me set up. The Assistant US Attorney I spoke with said that since I had strong references and some past experience in a law office, my felony conviction can possibly be overlooked; especially since I'm willing to volunteer while the Justice Department is struggling to manage the case loads due to the hiring freeze- but it would require a special waiver. I would kill for either one. The production assistant job would help me out with my bills, but I would also like to be able to list a job at a federal prosecutor's office on a law school application. Decisions decisions.... Wish me luck! Haha |

Thanks for wishing me good luck!
I had the camera op interview today...I think it went pretty well, but it looks like it's going to conflict with my class schedule if I get it ![]() I'm really hoping for the clerical position at the US Attorney's Office. *fingers crossed* |

Update: The US Attorney internship fizzled before the interview. So I went against the man and applied at the public defender's office for Sebastian County + Federal Western District of Arkansas for an unpaid summer undergrad law internship.
I had an interview earlier today with the chief attorney, it lasted about two hours and went great! But the blip on my background check might prevent me from getting the security clearance that would let me do the fun things in an actual courtroom. If it gets denied I'll probably be in a law library all day. ![]() |
