They'll probably be mediocre quality again but I'll still bite at around $5 when they're on sale.

Argh.

I've double-dipped on the last two Mill Creek Hammer double features by purchasing the region-free Indicator Blu-ray box set that includes The Gorgon and The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb.

That Indicator Hammer set also includes Maniac.

The second volume of the Indicator Hammer sets has Never Take Candy from a Stranger.

The Indicator and Mill Creek releases both have movies that the other does not have, however, so it might be worth buying both just to fill in the gaps.
Especially since the Mill Creek sets will be really inexpensive.
But...then again...those missing movies will probably surface in future Indicator sets.

At any rate, I'm not going to order the Mill Creek sets at least until March, because I'll probably know more by then about future Indicator plans.

Scream of Fear is a terrific, eerie and underseen Hammer offering with a great twist; I'd be tempted if I didn't already have the DVD and the strong feeling Indicator/Powerhouse will offer the definitive Blu version eventually.

I think every hammer title that Mill Creek releases will eventually be released by Indicator. I'm definitely not bothering with these.

Don't know if you're aware of this since you didn't mention it, but Die! Die! My Darling! is also known as Fanatic, and is included on the first Indicator Hammer set.

Moreover, Revenge of Frankenstein, Two Faces of Dr Jekyll and Scream/Taste of Fear will almost certainly be on the third or fourth box set.

You mean The Revenge of Frankenstein (as it was a Columbia Picture).
The Evil of Frankenstein is a Universal Picture and is available on Blu-ray.

I hope that Mill Creek will be more generous with the encoding on the March releases. Do that BD-50 thing like they did with the William Castle double features.

Doh of course I meant Revenge. That one is definitely confirmed to be with Indicator, they'll surely have another horror-themed boxset for 2018.

I'll probably pick these up for £6 each, same as I did with the other Hammer double features.

Yep, same here. I am so thankful that Indicator is giving these the love and care they deserve.

Meh... can't get excited about these. it's cool that they are getting a release but not my cup of tea Hammer wise. i have Scream Of Fear on DVD which is good enough as it rarely gets watched and the others i have no real interest in.

Will get the one with Scream of Fear only if Indicator is not releasing it... They still have 6 more titles to release after Vol.2, I believe.

Ahhh... So Scream of Fear is the only title from either of these Mill Creek sets that I'm lacking.

I'll wait until I find out whether or not Indicator will be releasing that as well.

Never seen any of these. Will probably pick these up and see if I like 'em enough and grab the Indicator editions later down the road.

I'll pick these just because they will be very cheap, and honestly these aren't Hammer films I'm likely to watch very much, so these will be fine for now. Scream of Fear does feature Hammer regular Christopher Lee which is great, but from what I recall he does very little in the film.

Haha, that's one serious imbalance in movie quality between the two double features.

Lee does have one of his patented sinister red herring small roles in this film, but he has been quoted as saying Scream of Fear was the best Hammer film he ever appeared in, with the best cast, story and director (I'll let my fellow Hammer enthusiasts argue over that one ). The film owes quite a bit to Clouzot's Diabolique, but is damn effective on its own terms and lead Susan Strasberg, daughter of legendary acting teacher Lee Strasberg, is excellent.

On a technical note, the wonderfully moody B&W cinematography is by Douglas Slocombe, who lensed such Ealing comedy classics as Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Lavender Hill Mob, as well as the 1945 Dead of Night. In the 80's, he shot 3 little films featuring Harrison Ford as a certain intrepid archaeologist...
