Hi guys,
I have a blu ray drive on my laptop and I play my blu rays by connecting my laptop to my sony bravia lcd hdtv. Now, my sony bravia has a refresh rate of 60hz. It does accept a 24 hz signal though. So by enabling the 24hz refresh rate instead of 60hz, would that mean I would get a smoother blu ray playback experiance with less judder? Thanks. |

Note sure about the judder. Its caused by the native refresh rate being 24p.
Going 24p stops the TV adding more processing to the image in general. But I don't think it will help with the judder. If your PC has interpolation that will be the process which gets rid of judder. I've only heard of projectors and high end TV's having it though. |

Most of the VGA drivers don't support proper lock @ 23.976 Hz.
This small deviation about 0.002 sometimes 0.003hz produces a drop frame every 1/0.003 seconds that means 5,5 minutes. This dropped frame lasts 0.41ms cause of the 24p refresh rate. For me its more annoying than the continues 0.17ms repeated frame of 3:2 pulldown pattern. In both cases do your own experiments and decide which refresh rate you prefer. In NTSC countries , it's recommended to use the default 60hz |
