Looking for Wireless Blu Ray player - Blu-ray Forum

I have been using my PS3 as our blu ray player but after getting a small tv for our bedroom and making the PS3 it's blu ray player. I want one for our living room but I need a wireless one. I would like to get an LG but I need help finding the best wireless blu ray player.

That one does look pretty nice but I am picky and don't want to spend over $120.

Most of the Wi Fi ones are fairly pricey though i guess.

i don't even know if they make a player with wi-fi for under the price you listed. you may have to save up a bit more to get that wi-fi player.

The LG BD640 is on sale for $160 at Best Buy. It doesn't have wifi built in, but comes packaged with the wifi dongle necessary to give it wireless capability. It's the cheapest one that I've seen that isn't a piece of crap.

All blu-ray players will work with any HD TV. No smart TV required. Your LED will be fine. You'll still be able to use all the internet apps built in to the player. All the "smart TV" label means is that the TV itself has internet connectivity and apps.

I'm in the same boat and the LG BD640 seems like a great choice. Does having the wireless dongle vs. built-in WiFi present a difference in speed?

I just picked up the Samsung BD-D5700, with built-in wifi. I also own the Samsung BD-P3600 which comes with the wifi dongle, and of the two, the D5700 is much faster, and way more internet features. Worth the upgrade IMO.

Hands down...Insignia WBRDVD2.....usually goes on sale in the US at best buy for $89...has built in Wifi..Netflix capable....and if you already have or rollback to the old firmaware it can also be remote hacked to become region free for DVD and Blu Ray!
