Warning - The Guardian Spoiler Alert On Blu-ray case !!!

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before (did a search - did not see it).
I just got back from Wal Mart yesterday were I picked up 'The Guardian' with Kevin Costner & Ashton Kutcher (I saw a preview a few months back & it looked interesting). My lady & I were planning to watch this movie & while she brought out the coffee & the disk was warming up in the PS3, I was reading the bonus features on the back of the case. Low & behold it mentions not only an alternate ending - but WHY it's an alternate ending (don't want to spoil it for you but picture when 'The 6th Sense' came out & the storyline on the back of the DVD case mentions that the Bruce Willis character doesn't realize that he is dead). It is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. A real 'Homer' moment. It almost spoiled the night; thankfully I have a couple of other Blu-rays I haven't seen yet. I'll check it out another time but kind of lost my appetite for this movie at this time.
Now I can understand indicating WHY it's an alternative ending on a movie if the movie is A. very famous & B. just about everyone has seen it and C. it's probably the third or fourth (etc) incarnation of this movie on disk but this is plain dumb!
That also leads me to a question. Did any of you guy & gals ever see a spoiler on the back of a movies case before?
