United Kingdom Storing Franchises

How do you choose do this if they A) Don't go in chronological and alphabetical order and B) If the spines don't match due to packaging or different studios?

Ideally i would like my franchises to all be stored in chronological order (box sets excluded obviously as they are already this way). However i am a pedant and like to have my collection arranged in order of studio. I also keep my slipcases and steelbooks separate to the rest. It doesn't really work when it comes to some franchises though. For example, the Resident Evil's. I Have Resident Evil on it's own as it's the only Pathe title i have, I have Resident Evil Extinxtion and Apocalypse in the section for Sony releases and i have Resident Evil Afterlife and Resident Evil Degeration in the slipcase section. So they're scattered all over! Tell me this isn't me being ridiculously pedantic!

I have the first two Two Story films together, but the third film is with the rest of the slipcase titles. The boxsets have their front covers on display.

I store it generally by the title of the franchise, even if it isn't the same as the first film. Like, I bought The Dark Knight before any other Batmans, but stored it under 'B'. James Bond all comes under 'Bond'. Dollars trilogy comes under 'D' (no way I'm keeping the box saying 'Spaghetti Western Trilogy'!) Then everything is chronological.

However, Pixar and Disneys are seperated and each put into release order. As for inconsistent spines or studios, it annoys me a little but I make do as I don't like ordering films based on packaging generally speaking.... I want my collection layout to be about the films and not the packaging!

I have Disney Classics in chronological order, and Pixars in alphabetical. The franchises I do have, like Harry Potter, are all chronological.

For the most part mine are stored/shelved by the studio, as they look a bit more organised that way. Unfortunately this means some franchises get scattered - my Terminator films are all over the place...T2 is Optimum, T3 is Sony Pictures & T4 Salvation is Columbia Pictures

I've got my collection split into Anime, Disney/Pixar, Slipcover/box, Steelbooks, Film sets and finally standard Blu-rays. Within these they are either alphabetically ordered or numbered if the case may be apart from the standard Blu's which are in alphabetical order organized by studio and category (Concerts/WWE/Standup/TV/Films/3D)

A bit OTT perhaps but it makes sense to me, well most of the time...

Oh yeah, generally though keep series together in the different sections but dont mix if they are different. Venture Bros. series 3 has a slipcover and 4 doesn't so they are seperate.

Current setup starts with a mix of DVD height to oversized box sets and TV series all together, then Disney followed by Pixar both in chronological, any other animated films, steelbooks, Harry Potter 1-6 (beside HP7 p1 steelbook), musicals, few films by Chan-wook Park, few film packs, a stack on my to watch shelf which I then shuffle into the rest of the collection which is for the most part alphabetical.

It constantly changing though, depending on shelf space etc.

Split the collections, i.e Slip case, steel tins and standard blu in their own section, but then stored in alphabetical order, I just cannot mix sleeve, tins and standards, just seems wrong

I store all my Blu-rays alphabetically, and franchises alphabetically from the first chronological film, e.g. the Dark Knight after Batman Begins, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine before X-Men 2 (Haven't gotten X1 or X3 yet).
