Default PSA: How Codemasters are treating their customers

I'm fed up with Codemasters and after buying over a dozen of their games, I'm completely done with the company. But I want to spread the information to people who may not know what they have been up to.

Also, please don't turn this into a digital v. physical argument. That's not the point.

Grid 2: When this game released, there was 4 different pre-order bonuses. All were put online to purchase Day 1, costing nearly $25. Yes, that $60 game already has $25 in DLC before you ever put the disc in. Also, since some of those pre-order packs came with different track layouts, they could only be used online if everyone had them. And the INDY DLC was even worse, since they INDY car is in its own class, so your only chance of every using it online is your own lobby, and hardly anybody owns it.

Then, over the past few months, they've released $17 in car packs. So we're up to $42 in DLC. Additionally, this caused problems with some connections in online lobbies and not even being able to use the online cars. Nice!

Now, they've just released the Spa track with two car skins for $10. (That's $52 in DLC for those counting at home, with at least one more track announced). The Spa track has the same issue as INDY, in that everyone in the lobby has to purchase it. So you'll never see this content online. This is the same track that Codemasters have used in no less than 5 other games - Grid 1 and 4 F1 games. On the flip side, Polyphony Digitial put their first version of the track in Gran Turismo 5 for only $5.

One last thing for Grid 2 - with all of this dlc released, and the small community, it's increasingly frustrating for any of the dlc to actually be used online. You are not able to join games in the custom lobby created by hosts that have also purchased this DLC but also own other DLC content that you do not have. Truly, a cluster**** of a DLC situation.

Now, that would all be irritating. But this is nothing new, this is just EA wannabe DLC shenanigans. But to the next part:

F1 2013: This game was announced to be released October 1 in Europe and Ocotber 8 in North America. The game ALSO has Day 1 DLC, the classic content, but I won't get much into that. The game released in Europe as normal, but on October 7th, a mere 16 hours or so before the game was set to be released in NA, Codemasters announced physical copies were delayed with no release date announced. The digital verison was "unaffected" and released on PSN on October 8 and on XBL on October 15.

It's been nearly 4 weeks since this was announced. Not ONE word from Codemasters since then. Not what is causing the delay, what they are doing about it, when the release date might be. Not one. While Amazon has their release dates set as Nov 29 and Nov 30, Best Buy put theirs at Not Yet Announced, Walmart at Dec 31, and Gamestop COMPLETELY PULLED THE CONSOLE LISTINGS FROM THEIR SITE.

This is unacceptable. Announcing a game is delayed hours before, and then nearly 4 weeks later not saying one word on the matter. It's beyond pathetic and I'm not even sure EA would be that bad.

I know this is a long post, but more people should be aware of this s***. Codemasters don't deserve your money. I know at the end of the day companies just want to make money, but even EA isn't usually this bad.

tl;dr: Crapload of DLC for Grid 2 and nobody can play with each other, F1 2013 physical copies in US/Canada delayed for weeks with no explanation and no release date.
