Italy The Party / Hollywood Party (Edwards)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-P...lu-ray/118736/

So, this masterpiece comedy got released over here on Nov 6 from MGM, and a French release will follow in December - yeah, majors in Europe are still alive and kicking. Kino released this in the US, but the European disc has got some features that make it the definitive edition.
The first "upgrade" concerns the PQ: the master is the same licensed to Kino (you can see below the same white spot in the first cap, for instance), but luckily MGM used a BD-50; 29 GB for the feature against the 19 on the Kino. Colours are a tad richer and more convincing, and it will prove more solid in motion.
Secondly, the disc provides 5 audio options and several subtitle tracks (I updated the release profile a while ago; check in a few hours for the full specs). Kino's shoddy release doesn't have any subs at all...
Lastly, the MGM lists more extras, all in SD except for the trailer, and all of them feature subtitles in 6 languages. They are:
Inside The Party (24:00)
The Party Revolution (16:30)
Blake Edwards Profile (6:00)
Ken Wales Profile (7:20)
Walter Mirisch Profile (4:25)
Vintage interviews with Peter Sellers (21:00) - exclusive to the MGM
Commercials (3:00) - exclusive to the MGM
Trailer (1080p; 2:01)

Region ABC.
Retail price in store is pretty ridiculous, only 9,90€; 8,90€ at DVD-store.it.

Caps:
Kino (left) vs MGM (right)

Thanks for the info.

Are there any similar recent releases worth noting?

Quadrifoglio, a new label, recently have been releasing some pretty good discs - a superior edition of The Quiet Man springs to mind (see thread). High Noon and Letter From an Unknown Woman are great, but add little or nothing to the existing releases, so I didn't create an apposite thread. Anyway, they're solid editions. They also released Polanski's Pirates and Gordon's Cyrano de Bergerac (both for the first time on Blu, methinks), but I don't own them, so I don't know if they're good.
Speaking of MGM, they'll be releasing Red River in 4 days; it should be the 133' cut, and I think I will give it a try - even though I already own the fabulous MoC.

Since there's no 50th anniversary mastered in 4K edition announced I will go with this one.

Question The Party (German Edition)

Greetings All,
Haven't owned this since the VHS days, so thought it was time to finally upgrade. Could anyone tell me if the German edition which has 1 BD and 2 DVD's is the same as this Italian edition. I can't find any information about it. Any recommendations on the best transfer would be appreciated!
