Panasonic and Stereo Sound have collaborated on a special sampler BD to demonstrate Panasonic's new Master Grade Video Coding (MGVC) technology.
The disc is a pack-in with the February 2014 edition of HiVi Magazine in Japan. It is out-of-stock on Amazon Japan, but copies remain available at the Stereo Sound shop here:
Note: In order to get the full benefit of the MGVC technology, one must purchase one of the handful of MGVC-capable players, which are currently sold exclusively in Japan, however, I thought this disc would be cool to look at. And indeed, on my Oppo BDP-103, the video quality of this sampler disc is stunning. I will be getting some MGVC Studio Ghibli BDs now.
So far, no non-Japanese film has been released with MGVC encoding, but that will change when Pony Canyon releases Peter Berg's Lone Survivor (2014) on September 2nd.

The disc is region-free. No other content is on the disc besides a single static menu. The clips can be played all together once, or as a loop, or individually.
Note: Take the scans with a grain of salt, because the disc is definitely a BD-25 and not a BD-50 as BDInfo claims. There aren't any looped playlists that could be causing the discrepancy in disc size, so I do wonder if it's down to the additional data required for MGVC which BDInfo is somehow mis-interpreting.
My BD drive tells me the actual disc size is 23,328,129,024 bytes, or 21.73 GB.
