Default Samsung: "We're on schedule"

http://www.videobusiness.com/article/CA6342640.html

From the article:

Quote:
Samsung did confirm its first Blu-ray players, expected to be priced around $1,000, will street on June 25.

“They’ve started shipping to stores, including Circuit City, Best Buy, Sears and some of the specialty shops, like J&R Music and Huppins HiFi,” said Jose Cardona, Samsung spokesman. “We’re on schedule.”

If shipments are on their way I'm hoping I can sneak one out of a Best Buy before 6/25.

It's going to be hard not to just drop a thou on one of these and sell both PS3's I'm going to be getting, but I'd just end up buying a 2nd-gen BD player when they come out, anyway, so...I wait. And cry.

Sweet. Maybe this means Ultimate Electronics will get my preorder in before the 25th.

After talking to various places, including Amazon (Amazon only has 26 pre-orders for the Samsung currently), none ofthe smaller vendors, including Amazon will have them the first week. I think I'm going to end up paying full price plus sales tax to get the Blu Ray player from Circuit City or Best Buy. Then again, J&R Music, no sales tax and will have them avail June 25th. May be more convenient to overnight it from J&R Music than get it locally and pay tax, take a trip there, etc... My bet for most convenient guaranteed player would be J&R next day air.... For those wanting to save money, I'm telling you, that company on Froogle is safe and Legit... Many good computer parts stores are carrying this and you can save $200.00 if you can wait an additional week or two past release...

Just to make sure, I'm going to be keeping in touch will all these vendors, including amazon. I have one pre-ordered at Amazon for $899.00 + overnight ship, as well as $721.00 + overnight at the place under FROOGLE.

Let us know how that $721 pre-order works out. I'm still wary of that company.
