USA Jackie Chan's Blu-ray & 4K US Releases

Not sure about everyone else here, but I consider myself a pretty big fan of Jackie Chan. I personally discovered him as a kid through Rumble in the Bronx and Jackie Chan's First Strike and have since grown to appreciate both his American films as well as his work over in Hong Kong. Some films are certainly better than others, but one thing I think any Jackie Chan fan can agree on is that he always brings a good energy to any film he does, regardless of its budget or overall quality.

In this thread I hope to share all of his US releases. This isn't a slight against releases that were made available outside of the country, that just isn't the focus here. Maybe that will change in the future, I don't know. For now, though, we're looking at US releases. If I miss any, please feel free to let me know.

This list will include anything that Jackie Chan has appeared in, no matter how big or small the part - so cameos and voice acting included. With that in mind, I can almost certainly guarantee I will miss a few, especially from his early career, so please leave a comment if you know of any that I overlook.

Blu-ray
Modern Era Jackie Chan
[Show spoiler]
This list encompasses what you would generally describe as a Jackie Chan film. These films basically outline what comes to mind when someone says "Jackie Chan movie". They range from the mid-1980s to now, though not all of them fall into the Jackie's trademark comedic sensibilities.

Classic Martial Arts & Asian Cinema
[Show spoiler]
These films encompass Jackie's appearances from the 1960s through to the early 1980s. For the most part, they are golden era martial arts films more akin to Bruce Lee films rather than what we would eventually know as your quintessential Jackie Chan film.

Family Films & Animation
[Show spoiler]
This list includes Jackie's more family oriented films. They are not generally what comes to mind when you think of "Jackie Chan movies", so I felt they should be contained separate from the likes of Rumble in the Bronx or Drunken Master II.

Multi-Packs & Collections
[Show spoiler]
This list includes any release that contains more than one film. The vast majority of these are collections of his films together (Rush Hour 1/2/3, Shanghai Noon/Knights, etc), but some (particularly the older film collections) may contain some films where he does not appear.

4K UHD
[Show spoiler]
This list only contains 4K UHD releases. There aren't all that many of them yet, so this will not be separated into different collections like the standard Blu-rays above. If we start to see more releases in the future in 4K, I may give this section the same treatment.

Are you looking for non-US releases?
Are you looking for all of Jackie Chan's physical media releases - regardless of region? Our homie Mikezilla3k has just the thing for you! Please be sure to pop over to his thread if you are interested in looking at the complete collection of releases inside and outside of the US borders!

It's been the best two years of physical media history for me mostly due to this man. Shout, Arrow, 88, and Criterion have been doing the Lord's work. And they're still not done.

I mean there is this thread, which I try to have region free/A Friendly releases as much as possible: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=224706

Though this does remind me to update the OP with the new Kung Fu Panda releases.

My b! I searched for Jackie Chan threads and for whatever reason I didn't spot that. I'll take this down when I get back to my PC.

EDIT: I've repurposed the thread a bit and left a big link to your thread for anyone looking for worldwide releases.

Yeah, I don't mind their being one just for US releases, as it feels slightly less confusing, but it's fine to have both I think.

Both are good, just depends on your collecting preference. I can't remember all of the titles included on the Shout/Criterion sets so I keep having to flip back and forth to see if a UK release was included in a US set.

Having multiple releases listed also gets confusing (especially something like Heart of Dragon/First Mission which are the same movie but have different titles).
In my US Toku thread I split them into sections where the top section is the best recommended release and the bottom section are other alternative releases. Makes it a little easier to know which to purchase (you'd still need to do homework if you're after dubs and extras though).

Since there seems to be a use for both, I'll update the thread later to include a link to the other thread. Setting these up is time consuming and I'd never want to step on anyone's toes. I'll also update the graphic to reflect that this is just US releases.

Doh! I'll amend that later when I update the thread.

I also really like that you used the spoiler tags to prevent the thread from being so long out of the gate. I'll be stealing that idea.

A few I think are missing:
- Jackie Chan: Emergence of a Superstar (Criterion)
- The Project A Collection (88 Films)
- Snake in the Eagle's Shadow / Drunken Master (Twilight Time)
- Facets of Love (88 Films)

I didn't know 88 Films had Facets of Love, I looked it up and apparently it's a 70's erotic (?) Shaw Bros. movie. Will they be releasing this one?

IMDB and HKMDB both say Jackie Chan is in it - no idea how big his role is though

Yeah I'm pretty sure there are more collections and multi-packs to find. I'll have a deeper look tonight.

I have no idea. Was Jackie Chan in that one? I honestly don't know anything about the Shaw Bros. I'm more an 80s/90s era martial arts film fan than 60s/70s. The further back you go, the less I'm familiar with beyond the scope of Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee.

Aye! I've added it to the thread.

EDIT:
I've reorganized the thread to make it a bit easier to navigate. I also added a link to the Worldwide releases thread to honor the homies that came before me.

Seriously! It has one of my favorite stunts ever put to film. If it doesn't get its own release (US releases, that is), I would like to see it at least in a multi-pack.

In his memoir I Am Jackie Chan, Jackie 'claimed' that he was in Come Drink with Me, but I've never been able to spot him to be honest.

They point him out in the commentary track on the Arrow release. One of the kids in a scene. Probably on screen for a few seconds
