They get so excited and think that I'm just some PS3 fanboy blinded by hatred of Microsoft. They think I'm stupid when I tell them Halo's just a bit too bright and cheerful looking for my taste, and that I prefer games with more of a dreadful look, like F.E.A.R, Killzone2, and Resistance.

One of them got upset when I told him:

"Don't get me wrong, Halo's a pretty looking game, but I just don't think that a FPS should look like the warriors invaded a candy store on the way to battle."

lol i actually like the "beautiful day" 1st person levels haha. Sunny blue sky. But then again I like the dreaded scary looks too.

There's nothing wrong with you not liking Halo, everyone has their own taste in games.
Halo 3 is going to be a big seller.

Great Story. I like HALO. I am not buying it tomorrow, I have a b-day coming up soon and it will be on the list. I thought Gears of War was pretty damn dark, and a lot more fun than HALO 2.

I think Halo 3 is going to be awesome. I don't own a 360, but my best friend does (covers all our gaming needs) and he's coming over this weekend and I plan to spend HOURS playing.

It will be a big seller, but is it just going to be a short term burst of sales for Microsoft, not a long term thing. I think the PS3 will come into it's own 2008-2009, with more games, downloadable content etc. Maybe Microsoft could be relying on Halo 3 too much. Bioshock on the 360 was supposed to be another killer game for Microsoft, but the PS3 seems to have come through that.

Being an uber-geek, I have the Legendary Edition pre-ordered because I really wanted the Spartan helmet replica...of course, I don't currently own an Xbox 360 so it will sit on the shelf for the foreseeable future. I suppose I can always pop the 2 DVDs of bonus extras into my PS3 and watch them for a while (and enjoy the irony of using the PS3 for Halo).

Maybe I can steal my nephew's (assuming of course that it hasn't red-ringed again) machine or drag him to my house over the weekend.

Maybe but I don't really care who's on top, just as long as great games are coming out.

I loved the first one....hated the second one which made not care about the 3rd one....its only has 10-13 hrs of gameplay according to IGN for an average gamer, 9 levels in total...which I think is way to tiny and way to short for a game thats been in development for 3 years, yay for DVD-9

The same could be said for Heavenly Sword which clocks in at almost half that game play time, but it's still awesome.

I don't know why everyone has to hate just because it's a product for the 360. It's multiplayer shooter done really well.

I guess you feel the same about Heavely Sword?

It has been in development since 2003 and about 6 to 8 hrs of gameplay.

I am a proud 360 owner, I've simply never had an interest in teh Halo series. Played halfway through the 1st one and never bothered to finish.

What if they released Halo 3 as a time delayed release for the PS3? Would you buy it?

And more importantly... if Halo 3 is the final game... why wouldn't Bungie do a delayed release and maximize their profit on the final game in a series? [that's your cue to answer with whatever Microsoft monopolizing themed joke you can come up with]

The way I see it is that I've never played any Halo game, and I am not missing anything! I am just as happy as if it never existed. I don't need that game, and I don't need to spend my valuable time on it. I love to watch great HD films and play games with other people (MMOs for example), but I am not into 1st person shooters and all they ever seem to do for me is to upset me as I am sniped, shot, slapped, punched, stabbed, burned, tazed, or chopped to death. Who needs it?

I think halo 3 will be a good game, I like the first 2. Halo was better than 2 but 2 wasn't that bad.
