Default Selling Steelbooks on Ebay fee question

So I just sold a Steelbook on Ebay and Ebay charges you a 9% fee. I gotta pay them over 11$ now. Didn't it used to be something like 3%? I can't remember ever being charged 9% but its been probably like almost a year since I sold something.

Then on top of that PP fees as well.

Yeah, it used to be 3% or so. Amazon is even worse.

Thumbs down

Depends on what listing you do !!

they have a FLAT % charge for auctions , but higher charges for Buy Now & Best offer !!

Charges are capped at $49 with some selling !!

allways read before you list as you are most of the time worse off , specially If you get stung with PayPal aswell

Didn't know about the change but figure they had to make their money back from giving us free listings huh... I don't think it matters for what you list it as when I looked at the fees, even at 1 cent its 9%

Yeah they changed the rules, now its 9% on anything .....

It does not pay to offer anything on ebay since you also have to cover the paypal fees....

OR is there anyway you could transfer these charges to the buyer? I know that was possible when Ebay strated back in the days.

I wonder if you put it in your Item description that buyer also has to pay Ebay fees if they would have a problem with that.

Interesting to read on this forum that on one hand members are complaining about high prices for Steelbooks on eBay and on the other hand member are complaining about the high fees. I'm not saying these are the same members, but both parties should read eachothers posts more to see the connection.

Ya I was just surprised to see 11$ on a 130$ auction. Didn't expect that at all hehe. No wonder stuff on ebay is more expensive now.

ebay put a stop to that a while ago when sellers use to state in their descritption about covering fees (add 4% to overall price to cover ebay fees)

the buyer shouldn't have to pay them if they are selling fees.

eBay Fees - 10%
PayPal Fees - about 5%

So, when you sell something you end up making 85% of the sale price.

I sold a large lot of movies recently on Ebay ( $1,301.02) and my seller / paypal fee was just over $100. "Buy it now" auctions have higher fees, than an auction that starts at $.99
