Default Site Preferences?

Good Morning Mods & Developers,

I was just curious, I noticed there is a slightly different layout on the site this morning. Specifically, in the upper right hand corner once a user is logged in. There used to be a 'Site Preferences' selection there which would allow users to configure their own preferences, like what country's reviews or releases show up, etc. This is now gone.

Where does a user now configure his/her Site Preferences?

Thanks for your help.

I have a similar question. Before whatever change was made today, I had my search bar set to search "All Countries" so that I could search any blu-ray and also see blu-ray reviews for all regions. Also with the "Best Blu-ray Deals" banner at the top, I had set it to US only.

After this change now, the Blu-ray Deals shows deals from all regions. So I switched it to US only and that changed my Search Bar option to US only (so now I can't see foreign blu-ray reviews). Is there a way to go back to the original setting?

On the right hand side of the front page, under the 'My Blu-ray.com' section, the Site Preferences now appears at the bottom of the list.

Hope that helps.

Well done. Thanks for the info bainbridge's_stache. I figured it was somewhere that I just wasn't seeing it.

Thanks!

We are preparing for some site changes/improvements, more specifically:
1) You will be able to set a different site locale and best deals locale at the top.
2) We will introduce a global filter similar to the country locale, so you can select/specify a global filter which will be applied site wide. We will start with packaging, so collectors can specify for example Digibooks or Steelbooks and then check any section of the site (for example the calendar) and only get Digibooks/Steelbooks. Then we will add more global filters to make the site even more flexible and easier to filter out exactly what you want.

Ok great. Sounds like I'll be able to go back to my old settings then.

That whole area of the screen is jacked up right now. For example, "Site locale: All" is on one line and "countries [B]" is on the second line. The flags after "Top deals | Price drops" wrap to two lines as well; the Italian flag is on a separate line all by itself.

Is there a way to set the search window for 'All countries' but set the Top Deals/Price Drops just for US? I don't have any interest in price drops from other countries, but want to be able to search for releases from all countries.

This is fixed for me now, does it display properly for you now as well?

I've been a member since July of 2009 and just recently I've been modifying my site preferences, since around July 4th, I haven't been able to see any of your News! Only Top News!! I waited patiently cause I was thinking, perhaps July 4th. vacations or something of that sort?! Well I just visited a public library and visited your site, Before my log in and I noticed 2 weeks worth of News that I've missed!! ... Once I log in, it's back to nothing on the left side of your site were News would be!! I checked my Site preferences again to see if it's something I changed and there is absolutely nothing that would fits that would repair this problem?! ... I logged back off and on, and when I'm logged off, News and when I'm logged on, nothing!! Help Me!!

The flags are all on one line now but that section appears to be one line above the "Best Blu-ray Deals" and "Best Blu-ray Deals, See all the Deals >>" text.

The site locale, logged in as, and Unread PMs still wrap to two lines.

This is what the site looks like for me:

My preferences seem to default back to United States every time I come back to the site.

When I'm not logged in and click on UK for site preferences, all it shows is UK deals at the top, but US reviews and pre-orders.

You now only select the top deals locale with the top-right flags, if you want to change the complete site locale you have to change the flag in the quick search. There's a slight miss in the design since the global flag locale is only displayed when you search for BDs and DVDs, and not theatrical etc, this will be fixed soon.

Is there a way to turn all smileys off, not just my own? If not, please consider this as a future idea, as it would make reading posts infinitely less headache-inducing.
