Pioneer Laser Disc Player CLD-M90

I'm a total noob when it comes to Laser disc players, I've never watched a laser disc, but suddenly have become interested in them. Probably because I've noticed a couple of my fave artists (Laura Branigan etc) are on laser disc, but to my knowledge, a lot never crossed over to DVD. How do you rate the above player as a entry level player?
