I've been posting for a couple weeks, I guess, but I thought I'd say "Hey" here anyway.

I'm first and foremost a Disney fan so it's not a big surprise I turned Blu. I'm not one to get into a war of words online, but I had to do it today on a Disney board I frequent when some Elmer started FUDding about---denying Warner had passed on Toshiba's offer because my linked source (digitalbits.com) was too partisan to be credible, insisting the Toshiba payoff to Paramount had been explicitly denied by Dauman, and saying that if Paramount had received anything it was surely nothing more than what Disney had received from Sony. While there is a lot of unsubstantiated hoo-hah floating around here, I find BD enthusiasts seem to feel comfortable making reality-based observations; long story short, a little judicious use of the Search function here turned up the articles I needed to quote & link to prove him 0-for-3...(smug mode engaged). Nice to have this resource available.

I also appreciate all the advice I got when my PS3 started doing weird things after installing a couple demos.

I've never been an early adopter before and I truly appreciated Gremal's "Attention Early Adopters!" post, which I note has been quite properly sticky-fied. (I've already quoted from it & given proper credit, btw; in my opinion it should be mandatory reading before posting.)

I'd also like to say that I appreciate the work the mods are doing---seems I read early on somewhere some complaints about how they weren't involved enough, but I have found frequent contributions from them on the threads I've tended to follow and I've had some positive interactions myself. It seems to be largely thankless work, so: thank you. I haven't dared the waters of the Insiders thread myself, but I very much appreciate the fact that there are folks here who know WTF is going on & will drop their pearls of wisdom among us; thanks to y'all as well---BD is obviously more than just a avocation for you because there are careers on the line, and I don't know if you get the props you deserve. Showbiz is a ***** goddess...
