United Kingdom ASDA direct payment details.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before or not. I ordered my first titile with ASDA direct after they switched from their other site. But shorty after my comfirmation e-mail I had:

Dear chip75

Thank you for placing an order with ASDA Direct. We can confirm that payment has now been taken for your order number ********.
So I assume that they take the payment before dispatch? Not a massive deal in this case (it was 6.47) but I thought I'd give you the heads up in case people pre-order items that are expensive.

Also reading their T & C's:

We reserve the right, however, to change prices at any time without notice to you. Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown are accurate at the time you place your order.
[Show spoiler]Provided that your order has not already been delivered, then if within 14 days of accepting your order a pricing error is found in respect of any or all of the goods you have ordered, we will notify you as soon as possible detailing the mis-priced goods and offer you the option of:-

*placing a new order at the correct price for those goods;
*cancelling the whole of your order; or
*cancelling your order for the mis-priced goods and reconfirming your order for the correctly priced goods


If, within 7 days of receipt of our notice to you, you have not responded by selecting one of the available options above then:
[Show spoiler]

*if all of the goods you have ordered are found to be mis-priced the entire order will be cancelled automatically and we will refund or re-credit you for any sum you have paid for those goods; or
*If only some of the goods you have ordered are found to be mis-priced, we will deliver the correctly priced goods but we will not be obliged to supply you with the mis-priced goods. In these circumstances we will refund or re-credit you for any sum you have paid for the mis-priced goods.
In the event that a pricing error is found by us, then the above options shall only apply if your order delivery has not been completed.
Am I been paranoid or does that mean they can change the price after you order? Or does it mean they can change the price but it won't affect our purchases? It doesn't seem to say they'll refund a pricing error without re-ordering.

It does read like that but in my opinion they should contact you if the amount to be charged rises to allow you to make a decision about whether to cancel the order or not.

It does contradict itself. It mentions not giving notice and then explains what they'll do if you don't respond to the notice they've given you.
