I don't know, but I have heard of good Japanese animated films (that aren't Ghibli) bombing more than bad Japanese animated films. I'm not sure if MIND GAME was a success in Japan or not.
Here's the trailer: The animation looks decent but maybe people are sick of Speed Racer storylines. It's cool to have fast cars in movies, but if the movie revolves around racing, it usually isn't that interesting. |

Less than a month to go and features are getting more exciting all the time for the Limited Edition release: 84minutes of extras, 5 posters, a decal sheet, and a drawing for a chance to win a production model of the lead car used in the creation of the film. Though I have not seen it (kind of kicking myself for not going to the US theatrical premiere when I could have, but I'm certain waiting to see it on my HT system will be much better experience) it's still my most anticipated anime pre-order ever...

This is taking sooooo LONG to come out! I saw the trailer years ago and then there was a local AU cinema release (at only 5 cinemas in the entire country for which I missed out on) and then there was another year's worth of waiting. I really do hate Japan's release system
Hopefully its good stuff, I saw an 8min preview but couldn't work out wtf was going on ![]() |

Stobbart, the $9x.xx price is totally worth it to me even if there was no special features. The Limited Edition packaging + the extra items thrown in sealed the deal for getting the Japanese release...not that I planned on waiting around for Manga to decide when they want to release anyways. I'll pick up the US release as well whenever I can get it for a decent price.
I recently found this podcast about Redline...now it's even harder to wait for this Blu-Ray release! http://www.awopodcast.com/2011/05/an...m-maughan.html Redline talk start at around the 27:30 mark and lasts about 1 hour...very much worth the listen! ![]() Because of that podcast I watched Trava Fist Planet to get a feel for the Redline universe and it was really entertaining! Redline should have some great humor content based off Trava Fist Planet! Last edited by Vracer111; 08-02-2011 at 02:13 AM. |

Got e-mail notification my copy of Redline has begun its journey today...
![]() blackslashio, this is one anime I just can't wait for and planned to jump on whichever subtitled release was first available. I often buy my anime used for really good prices on many titles and good prices for new releases - so once in a while I go for a Japanese Blu-Ray import when it is a title deserving it that is not easy to get (such as Jin-Roh and Eve no Jikan.) I still do plan to get the US release for the English dub whenever it is eventually released (I'm betting some time in early 2012...). Wouldn't mind getting the UK one, but I'm betting the US release will be less expensive. Would love to get a copy of Trava Fist Planet - Episode 1 DVD - but it's very hard to get and not able to be found under $200... |

The Eve no Jikan ONA with 6 episodes has English subtitles, and is the version I have. Each episode of the ONA is roughly 15 minutes. The Movie version does not have any subtitles and I believe it actually has a longer run time than the ONA because of added scenes with more story development from what I've read. Everyone says the movie version is the one to go with - but no subtitles kind of kills the deal for me. I can't only hope for an English subtitled release of the movie version sometime in the future...

Anyone else pre-order Redline? If so, which version? My money is on the collector's at the moment, but the making-of and the demo movie on that extra dvd hardly seems to justify its price. Last edited by TwelveMind; 08-09-2011 at 01:48 PM. |
