Replacement Subwoofer Question

Hi there,

Recently my paradigm ultra cube.. well died!
The amp in it has gone and needs replacement.
Because its outside Warranty now, it will cost me $900(AUS)
So I am not sure what to do. Spend the $900, and its new again.
These things in australia cost about $1600.
Or do I spend the $900 and buy a new sub.
But the question is would I get anything decent for that price?

Opinion wanted.

You can easily replace the amplifier with a plate or external amplifier. They are pretty cheap in the U.S. I am sure you can find one in Australia at about the same price. Some of the dealers in U.S. ship to Australia.
