I have one with the old finish,i assume they both sound they same.I've been very happy with mine,don't know how it compares to the Epiks but its the best sub i've had,esp. at the sale price.

If anyone is wondering what the new finish looks like compared to the old one, here it is. IMO, the new satin finish is much much better.






My cell phone camera makes it look a little reddish, but it's all sexy black.

I placed an order for the US12 on Tuesday evening. I should have it early next week. It will replace my US10 which will be moved to the basement office small secondary HT setup replacing an 8" downfiring yammy sub. the US12 will be in my main HT setup. I expect much of the same just a bit more of it from the US12; i know what to expect having owned the US10 for quite a while. I couldn't resist the sale price and it's also gonna make everything down there sound and feel much, much better!

I am really interested in purchasing the Ultra Sub 12. Coming from a Klipsch Sub 12 which I will say is a decent sub, especially since I was able to buy it brand new for $300.00 , turns into a great sub. LOL! I'm just leaning towards having a sealed sub. Within the last year or so I got into piecing together a home theater, most of my audio experience comes from car audio, which of course is completely different though I personally do enjoy the sound of seal enclosures. Being that the Klpisch Sub 12 is a rear port down firing sub it took a whole lot of patience and time to get it adjusted properly to removed it's boominess. From time to time though during intense action movies it can still a tad boomy so I basically adjust the gain from time to time.

I suppose I'm curious on what peoples interpretations are with the fact that the Ultra Sub 12 is sealed? Do you find the bass keeps it's tightness and fullness whether listened to at a moderate level and also turning it up during movie times? I don't watch my movies at movie theater sound levels but am not shy about enjoying the greatness of having nice audio equipment.

Hey, just purhased a pair of Audioengine A5 in Bamboo for my bedroom. I would like to pair a smaller sub with them and found someone local selling an Ultra 10 for $250. Seller says sub is 6 months old and in great condition with no scratches. Is this a good deal for local pickup?
