Default Imagine Bluray technology on UMD

it was a shame about UMD being a failure. I bought a couple of them and they're good to have when the power goes out, but it would be awesome if they did Bluray technology for UMD. Just an idea

They should atleast make them double layer so they can increase the capacity for the games. Sony for the PSP 2 should have it be flashed based.

Blu is impractical for a portable game system. You need something that can be jerked and bashed around

Optical period is pretty impractical

I'd bet my bottom dollar that the next PSP is based off of Blue laser technology and incorporates a cell processor (of sorts).

... and the battery couldn't even last 10min due to the power drain from Cell.

yeah, because i'm sure they'll use the same battery

It's already been said by Sony exec's in interviews on gamindustry.biz that the cell will be implemented, and mention of Blue-UMD. I didn't just pull this out of the air.

Sony knows that backwards compatibility is important, thats why they will retain the UMD drive...though I'm sure pro duo slots will remain too for alternative media/games etc. via ps3 dl's.
