I was thinking about this and how I should add it to my collection just the other day, and this edition looks like it will be worth waiting for. I recently picked up The Changeling and it's a very nice set, this is obviously done in the same style.

One of the higher profile slasher films I somehow never got around to seeing. Will definitely be picking this up. Heard the first and third acts are solid with a flabby middle, but I love the concept of it.

I wouldn't say it was flabby at all, totally solid with great atmosphere & suspense. The 3 leads ( Kane, Durning & Beckley ) are fantastic here, fine support from Colleen Dewhurst too.

I'd deffo rate this as a minor classic of the genre and even that may be understating it a little.

This release is all about the sequel, the main feature is ok but it pales in comparison to the sequel.

If you go in expecting a slasher film, you'll probably be disappointed. It's a straight up thriller with a few horror / slasher elements. I think because the opening sequence has become so iconic, there's a sight misconception as to what the film is.

I've actually read quite a bit about the film in various books so I'm not expecting a typical slasher at all - it definitely sounds like my cup of tea. Flabby was definitely the wrong word - I should have thought more before posting that! A lot of reviews seem to be hard on the middle, probably because it doesn't focus as much on the horror elements. Looking forward to watching for myself anyway.
