Default Question about my Panasonic Hdtv??

I have a Panasonic 32lx70. My Resolution is 1366 x 768. While watching blu-ray's my tv output says 1080p. I don't understand how it is possible to be 1080p at that resolution. Can someone please explain this to me.

Thanks

That would be the input resolution your tv is displaying. Everything that you put into your tv will be scaled to your tvs native 768p resolution. Most 768p tvs wont even accept 1080p signals but apparently yours does. The only way to get true 1080p resolution is if your display is 1920x1080 native resolution.

My TV also accepts a 1080p signal and says "1080p," while it is only a 720p TV. I watch my Blu-rays through my PS3 with the 1080p/24 option turned on. If I turn it off it will display my Blurays in 1080i. Which is better? 1080p/24 and then obviosly i do not get a 1080p picture because it is downscaled. or is it better to have it set at 1080i with the 1080p/24 turned off. I guess the difference is that its either the TV or the PS3 thats lowering the resolustion. Does it even make a difference?

Try it, or better still, get someone else to toggle it and so you can experience a blind test.

Technically, if your TV has a good scaler, 1080i or 1080p being scaled down to 720p would make no difference. For a lesser scaler, you should get better performance from a 1080p input signal since your scaler won't have to do the de-interlacing and possible 3:2 pulldown.
