ONKYO TX-NR709 Volume @ +10 just to get it pretty loud -20 sounds tinny, any owners and what volume level you listen at?
After Auddessey FRONTS: Klipsch Reference RB-61 II @50hz -9db , CENTER: Klipsch Reference RC-42 II @70hz -7.5db Also soon will be replace by Klipsch Reference RB-51 II my SURROUND + SURROUND BACK: Cerwin-Vega VE-5M @50hz -4db SUBWOOFER: Mirage Omni S8 @120hz =1.5db 1. Is it all normal or should i set all speakers t0 80hz (THX)) like manual says for front speakers recommened ? 2. My old Onkyo Tx-SR608 was loud at -30 Volume 3. I like to know to me the system sounds not quite as loud or juice,no bad connection I see any where,I notice audessey loves putting my speakers at very low dbs 4 This is a 8.5'x15' room only 9'ceiling also thanks guys... |

Most people will tell you to set your front 3 speakers to 80hz. Experimenting with what sounds right for you is what you need to do. I have my speakers set to 80hz for front 3 and 90hz for surrounds. Also since your 709 is close to my 40.2 in the setup menu I have my sound set to +10db on all inputs I'm using. Maybe that will help?

You talking about intelvolume " have my sound set to +10db on all inputs "
Yes noticed that helps a lot + dynamic eq light Last edited by EaglePC; 08-15-2011 at 08:08 AM. |

there are to many confusing features in this reciever compare to Onkyo sr608
hopefully who reads this can start a Onkyo TX-NR709,809,909 Official Thread setups and so forth ![]() Thanks Anyways I posted a while back , sold my TX-SR608 thought 709 would be more powerfull, I must be deaf - I do have a inner ear problem 30% loss of hearing. https://forum.blu-ray.com/receivers/...ml#post5051506 Last edited by EaglePC; 08-14-2011 at 11:08 PM. |

done tons of tweaks intellevol ,dynamic eq , and etc - I've noticed something, I have to turn up volume to -10 or more to get a good surround sound and not much more to push max volume is +16. Otherwise, I can barely hear the movie at volume -30 or above. Is that normal or something wrong with my setup ?
