One of my favorite Almodovar's, along with the Before Trilogy and Mildred Pierce, Criterion is supplying a great slate in February - I gotta have 'em all!

Same artist, Malika Favre. I hope they have her do all of their Almodóvars.

Figured so, and I agree, I hope she does all of them as her style fits his films pretty perfectly. I was kind of hoping for a boxset from CC instead of individual releases, but this is the one I wanted most, so I'm happy.

11 of his catalog movies (I count up to Talk to Her) have been restored in 2K and released on BD, so at the current pace (1 movie every 2 year), Criterion should be done with them individual releases by 2038.

There was a news item here recently that Sony bought Pepi Luci Bom/Labyrinth of Passion/Matador so hopefully we'll get a boxset of early movies and hopefully it won't be a DVD only Eclipse set.

Yeah, I was hoping for a comprehensive box set too. Hopefully, the early films will get one at least.

Hopefully it will at least be at the same pace as the Fassbinder titles they have released.

very excited ! one of my favorite movies and is hilarious specially if you understand spanish and Spain culture,
but i do have one complaint,
why oh why didn't they get the other actresses for the interview?
kind of like a reunion, it would have been wonderful!

Almodóvar is one of those directors whose films I really want to like but can never get into them. So far I've seen Live Flesh, Volver and Broken Embraces.

These aren't really his best. Try; High Heels, Bad Education, The Skin I Love In, Law of Desire, Flower of My Secret, Pepi Luci Bom.

I am a fan, but don't like everything he has done,
my favorites in order:

woman on the verge
volver
tie me up tie me down
all about my mother
dark habits
what have i done to deserve this
pepi luci bon
amantes pasajeros )im so excited)
kika

the rest of his films for me do not much.

I particularly dislike bad education and talk to her.

I'd add his 1986 'Matador' to that list as well

I think after watching all of his movies going back and re watching the ones I wasn't 100% on the first time has always increased my enjoyment of them. He is one of those "building a house" directors who even though the movies are all fine individual rooms when you take them in context of the bigger picture and in relation to the other movies they become even more satisfying.

Hoping for a domestic or UK BD release of the oscar-winning 'All About My Mother' before too long ...

Will this be the same transfer as used in the UK box set? I would be all over this normally (I already have Criterion's ˇAtame!) but with the terrible exchange rate I could get the UK six film box set for the same as what the Criterion of Women... would cost me

It is from the same TF1 restored master as in the UK boxset.
