Default Organizing your Blu's

Just curious... I am about to get some new wall media storage for my collection.
How does everyone sort or organize theirs? I have always done by studio.. even with Dvd's.. but now with Steelbooks, Digibooks, Criterion, 3D, Slips, No Slips... I want them to look great on the shelves.

I apologize if there is already a thread. I didn't see one when I searched.

I was going alphabetical order at the start, but since my collection is growing more than expected, this is how I organize my collection:
  • English (USA/UK/AUS)
  • French (Quebec and France)
  • Foreign Language Blu-rays (Spanish, German, Japanese, Cantonese...)
  • TV-Series
  • Animation (Classic, CG, Puppetry)
  • Music and Shows (Rihanna, Marylin Manson, Britney Spears...)
  • Documentaries (Only one: Comic-Con Doc)
  • Screen Savers (Christmas Music with fireplace!)

All section are in alphabetical order. No distinction between keepcase, slipcovers, Digibook or Steelbook...

Thanks!!!! Good Idea. My wife has always wanted me to go Alphabetical with our movies to make it easier. I will have to try this.

I have them separated by packing type and studio, all slips go together, all digibooks, criterion, digipacks etc...It looks very clean and I know exactly where everything is though it may be hard for strangers to find things. Then again my library is for me and not for guests.

same here. Simple Alphabetization for everything... just split into types.. Anime, TV shows and movies. it gets WAY too convoluted otherwise.

I have them thrown in assorted piles throughout the house. That's how I roll.

Ok....I'm being serious here, so don't get all uppity. It's an honest question. Why does anyone give a crap about slipcovers? I just don't get it. It's a piece of cardboard that goes immediately into the recycle bin for me.

Ok, but why save them at all? I can see maybe if it's the case where the slipcover is different than the blu cover beneath it, but most of the ones I've seen are identical.

To drive my wife crazy!! LOL, no, some people are collectors of anything. I'm not a hoarder, just figure someone may want them at some point. I have.... gasp.... thrown some away.

I hope my membership isn't revoked now.

Right now it is alphabetical with TV Shows, Disney Animated Films, digibooks and Criterions separated. I'm strongly considering separating my films even more now that my collection is growing. Problem is that I'm low on space.

I like slipcovers just because they cover the cheap ass plastic blu cases. The blu plastic is just annoying to me, at least with the slip I don't feel like the case is a giant blu ray advertisement.

As weird as this might be, I go for a more a more aesthetic approach than anything. I'm always shifting Blu-rays around trying to get that feng shui feeling on my shelves.
