I have mentioned before that most players, like the Sony S300, can handle simul-cast output to a regular TV.
Push a smaller SD TV nearby and connect it. Not only will the resolution difference be apparent, but so will the color and sharpness, etc. Last edited by tron3; 09-10-2007 at 07:50 PM. |

I am also looking for something like this, after my wife commited blasphemy and stated "I honestly can't tell the difference between Blu-Ray and DVD". One of these discs is what I am looking for.
You know what, I'll Paypal one for $20 too. |

Would having everything set at 720p make an impact? Could it be that upscaling DVDs to 720p and then playing Blu-Rays at 720p also causes this lack of noticeability? I'm stuck in the circular point of: Having a 1080p TV would show the difference, but Can't get a 1080p TV because she can't tell the difference, but If we had a 1080p TV, I could show her the difference, but She doesn't think there is a difference, so no 1080p TV. Plus, the 27" is "big enough" I'm saving up enough to both buy a 1080p TV (a 40" or something so that it isn't "too big" for her tastes) and to afford another place to sleep should the revealing of the new TV not go well...... |

IMHO.. 27" is too small to enjoy HD and too small to see the difference compared to SD. For a 40" .. 720p is good enough. 1080p will highly be noticeable for sets 50" or higher and provided that you sit close enough to really see the difference.
