Default best under $1500

so I'm looking to upgrade to a 4K tv after a failed attempt at setting up a projector theater. Part of me doesn't want to go through the whole research process again and just walk into Best Buy getting the best looking TV. I mainly just want something that has great picture quality. Smart features and 3D are only an added bonus not a need. and my budget is trying to stay under $1500. I currently have a vizio 55 inch. I'm not in love with vizio as I used to be so brand wise I'll get whatever as long as it looks nice. I would love slim panels too, the more screen I see the better. size I'm still debating but I wouldn't want to go under 50 inches. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!

The Samsung 8000 series is spectacular. I have the 65" and the picture is gorgeous. Not only is the the TV extremely thin, it has a very thin bezel.

The only 4K content I've watched so far is through Netflix and Amazon Prime; I can hardly wait to get my mitts on a UHD Blu-ray player and see how much better that looks!

funny you both mention this model because so far it's the one that's been catching my eye the most. That and the vizio p series but after already owning a vizio I'm looking to get into another brand possibly. and I love the thin bezel

Just curious, what had dis-encourage you from pursuing a projector setup?

spent a long time researching, had to rearrange my whole living room, and then when I finally had everything set up the projector was busted. The screen would not center for the life of me and I wasn't blown away by the giant image. So after all that frustration it wasn't worth it and I sent everything back and returned the room to how it was. It made me realize I'd rather have something smaller but greater quality in the comfort of my bedroom.

The KS8000 is a beautiful TV. After reading many reviews and checking out different stores this is the one I'm thinking I'll be purchasing.

yeah this is the one I'm really leaning towards, I've barely heard anything negative especially when compared to the p series.

The cons on the KS8000 reviews were that it doesn't support 3D, lacks USB 3.0, and does not have a very wide viewing angle. None of these are issues for me and it's been all upside with this TV.

Samsung just rolled out a firmware update that upgrades the display to HDR+. I like the GUI, it's clean, simple, and fast.

Bj's currently has a 65 inch Haier UHD tv for only $599, I bought one the other day and I gotta tell you........it looks really good, now I am using a PS3 to play blurays and it looks fantastic, I am curious to see how upscaling my blurays/playing 4K blurays look, I will be buying an upscale 4K or 4K bluray player soon.

Does raising my budget to the limit being $2000 change anything? From what I've seen I really like the samsung ks8500 series (curved just looks awesome) and 65 inch.
4K and 65 inch seem to be my two big things. I just can't see myself ever spending over 2,000. Hoping labor day weekend has some good sales.

How about the LG UH8500? I've never seen it, but it has me tempted to buy one and move the TV I bought last year to the bedroom. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-65-cl...&skuId=4924100 They also have the UH7700 which I guess is the same TV without 3d for $1600.

If you sit dead center or close to it the curve really grows on you as the sides are pointed towards you.

IPS panel, not good for hdr, but good viewing angles. Horrible black levels unfortunately. Ks8000 over the lg lcds all day.

Thanks, I'll try not to look at that one any more.
