Samsung 59" PN59D550 3D TV & Onkyo 606 Questions

Hello all.

I am looking to buy this TV and it is 3D capable. I currently use an Onkyo 606 receiver and a PS3.

It will be $999.99.

My question is can I buy a HDMI splitter to direct a signal from my PS3 and split the signal from the HDMI splitter to allow the video to pass through directly to the TV and direct the sound to the receiver?

I know the Onkyo 606 is not 3D capable, I was wonder if this implementation would work.

My other only option would be to buy a dual output Blu-ray 3D player, which I would like to avoid as most the the players for dual output in Canada are expensive and hard to find.
