Default Sony's Head-Mounted OLED “Personal 3D Viewer” HMZ-T1

I got excited about this until I realized it's not VR. Yawn.

VR with what? That needs software support and I'm pretty sure this is wired, too.

Yes it is wired. Seems cool. Not sure it will be very popular because of the price.

I'll stick to my 3DTV and surround setup.

I might be tempted to get this. Not that interested in 3D movies but could be good for more immersive 3D gaming. And would definitely be a bonus when my parents visit because all I get is 'it's too loud', 'aren't you bored of this yet' (meaning they are and they want me to turn it off), etc.

Could also be good if they could implement head tracking with it in GT5 too, although it would probably need some inbuilt sensors for that

Bit expensive though!

Seems pretty cheap for what you're getting actually.

Two small OLED's, but with an incredibly high pixel density at 1280x720 each.

It's not necessarily expensive for the kit you're getting, just expensive for my credit card

Still, I did spend £260 for a wheel and stand just to play with GT5 so it's not out of the realms of possibility that I would buy it anyway

Hopefully this thing employs eye tracking to guess and put into focus what you're looking at. Too bad that does nothing for the z-axis, though.

Mine! All mine! It's like viewing a 750" screen at 20 meters! Perfect 3D (no ghosting, blur, etc) with 5.1 surround sound! Definitely worth my measly $800. How much are 80" 3DTVs these days (with ghosting, blur, etc)?

You have to think with this and the Move it will pretty close to VR.

How many times do you play games in front of an audience?
