Default College Football!

It's that time of year.
I'm sure everybody here has their team. Who is it?
My OU Sooners pretty much owned North Texas on Saturday!

(I bet this thread gets heated)

No offense bud, but I hope your Sooners get their butts beaten next week by my beloved Canes. Funny thing is, I just noticed my team's schedule this afternoon, and had no idea we're playing Oklahoma so early on. I hope for a good game.

OK, maybe not "trounced" (that's for a game like Georgia Tech - Notre Dame) but did beat them rather soundly, minus a few nervous moments in the second half.

Go Bears!!!

why do you guys call it football..its clearly an offshoot of rugby, but with shoulderpads and head protection...Football is foot control, picking it up and running with it is rugby

Because the sport is nothing even close to rugby, the only similarities are that the players that play them are tuff sob's! Why do Europeans remain all bent out of shape about the name of a sport, it has been called football before your fathers father was even born so cant we all just get along?

And damn do the damers suck this year, i wonder if charlie will even last the season. It is without question one of the worst teams they have ever fielded imo.

true enough. i was screaming at people not to start any chants until about a minute left, this is cal after all and weirder things have happened. that being said, i think the term trouncing would be appropriate if the refs didn't blow the late forsett TD or if longshore got the snap on the keeper the next play. either way, great game and memorial was out of control. the crowd compares to sc '03 or oregon '06.

i'll be at oregon this year as well as all cal home games this season (may even be able to make ucla as well). with the start to the season underway successfully, i'm jacked.

go bears!

and for those who care, desean jackson running it back against the vols.

My Clemson Tigers beat the Florida State Seminoles on prime time tv on Monday Night. We were owning them at first, but ended up losing almost. Oh well, we pulled the game out and should have a pretty good season.

As opposed to what a bunch of grown men flopping around crying on the pitch because someone bumped into them? Please you keep your version of football and i will keep mine, were grown men don't cry like little babies and don't act like a bunch of candy a@@es on the field!

Damn i feel like Jim Rome with that mini rant.

I'm an Auburn fan over here.

So I wonder how long before anyone admits to being a Michigan fan.

Also, am I allowed to point out that Auburn beat the National Champion Florida Gators last season?

Must be nice to be the home team.
See, I like college football, but I'm not a fanatic. I won't be driving like 1500 miles for a game, not to mention flying there which would cost an arm and a leg.
I'll just catch the game on tv.
