Transformers Australian Blu-Ray ? - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know for sure if the new MadMen video release of the Transformers animated movie on blu-ray is region free (including the special features)? I have read conflicting reports and I want to make sure before I make my purchase.

AFAIK, it doesn't get released until Wednesday. You will probably get a better idea then. I probably won't have my copy until next week and will be happy to tell you region status and extras (PAL vs NTSC) unless someone beats me to it.

Got my version today. It MPEG-2 with DD 2.0 and 5.1. As far as I can tell it is identical to the UK version. It is region free. However, the extras are PAL, so unless you have a player that converts PAL to NTSC or can output PAL signal to a tv that accepts it, the extras won't play. It has a number of extras, which is the main advantage of this version over the UK version.

its for sale in The Warehouse here for $NZ19.95 so it must be region free.

i think there is. i imported one for someone in states and heard a slight paper rattle which suggest's an insert, but it was sealed and remained sealed so clue to what it was. possibly other MADMen releases'

The copy I own didn't come with any inserts inside the case, but I did buy it on the 1st day it was released on blu here. Newer batches might come with an insert in the case, promoting new releases or up coming titles, or even advertising a competition.

I see, thanks for the info. Picked this up second hand and was curious if it had a booklet or something missing since but guess it doesn't
