United Kingdom Your Highness - 08-Aug-11

Really intend on picking this up.

Seen a special screening of this back in April where Danny McBride was there and did a Q+A afterwards.

If you are a fan of Pineapple Express and/or Fantasy films of the 80's (Krull, Conan, Labyrinth) then I'm sure you'll enjoy this.

I really wanted to like the film -but it was a failure for me.

Cast and story (not the same as script!) were great so I will return to it.

And you were right.

Quick question to anyone that did pick this up. How's the sound for all the bonus features? On mine, the movie's fine but pretty much all the bonus material has got some well dodgy sound (essentially rapidly alternating between normal and slightly muffled throughout).

I'll prob's just take it back to HMV and exchange it (really just out of principle, I don't really watch extras more than once anyway), but I was curious if I have got a random dodgy one, or if they're all cream crackered?

Cheers.

Yeah I watched this last night. The film's sound is fine, but the extras, in particular the "Gag Reel" and the "Line-O-Rama", the sound was really bad. Also the "Making of..." the picture like freaked out for a second near the start of it.

So looks like they've messed up the bonus features which sucks.

Are the bonus features in HD?

I know they are on the US disc.

It's a bit like the wonderful The Princess Bride except filthy-mouthed and not as funny/smart. Still worth a look though for the cast.

Uk review http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/your-highness.html which looks pretty much a port of the USA disc https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Your-.../24944/#Review

Out of Stock with ASDA Direct. It's nearly thirteen quid everywhere else. I need to register with them as well now their other site has gone.

Got mine.

Click for larger:

Plays on my US Sony BDP-S1 with the Jedi mind trick but it's locked otherwise to B. Strange to see that with a Univeral Studios opening but such is their level of indebtedness to the banks they'd sell their arse to anyone.

For a price.

Incidentally I seen this today with a slipcover -my copy didn't have that.

No interest to me (would be nice if it were lenticular though!) but may be of interest to slipcover fans.

Must say I found signing up for ASDA Direct I bit of an ordeal. Each part of the account had to be filled in separately and when all that was done, my card wanted one of those verification things were I had to fill in the first, fifith and six character of my password, I haven't used that system for ages and had no idea! So I had to set-up the whole thing again. Both the reset and the order were supposed to get comfirmation e-mails and I haven't received either. It would have been easier to buy with an E-Voucher!

Rant over, great price but if Amazon match the price....
