This November, BBC Home Entertainment will bring the Life / Planet Earth: Special Edition Collection to Blu-ray. A repackaging of both the David Attenborough version of Life and the upcoming Planet Earth: Special Edition, the boxset offers over seventeen hours of the finest nature footage ever filmed in high definition.

The Special Edition Collection contains ten Blu-ray discs - four from the Life set and six from the Planet Earth: Special Edition set. Both programs will be presented in their broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 with 5.1 DTS-HD HR audio tracks. The package also retains all special features from the individual releases, including:

Life On Location featurettes for the ten Life episodes
One 10-minute behind the scenes program for each Planet Earth episode
Planet Earth: The Future documentary on the environmental issues raised by Planet Earth
Commentary on select Planet Earth episodes
Great Planet Earth Moments featurette
Snow Leopard: Beyond the Myth featurette on the snow leopards that annually visit a cave in the mountains of Pakistan
Secrets of the Maya Underworld featurette on the freshwater pools in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula
