Wink List of 1080p/60 TV sets

Blu-ray day is here!!!

We just purchased our first Blu-ray movie ("50 First Dates"--which was proudly playing on the Samsung Blu-ray machine at a Best Buy here in Miami, FL), despite not owning the player or even a high-def TV set yet!

Where can I find an up-to-date list of (or can you please provide me this list via your reply) TV sets that accept and display full external 1080p/60 signals through HDMI port with no downgrading, down- and up-converting, or adulterating the signal in any way? I.e. 1080p/60 100% all the way !!

Does Sony make any such sets?

Thank you very much!

Happy Blu-ray day, everyone!

Alra111

I have not heard of any players which output 1080p/60. Output 1080p/24 and maybe 1080p/30 but none at 1080p/60.

I have not heard of any movies (announced as of yet) which will be 1080p/60. Done at 1080p/24, yes, but none at 1080p/60 yet.

I hvae not heard of any monitors/TVs which accept input at 1080p/60. A couple take 1080p/24 and/or 1080p/30, but I know of none that take 1080p/60 as an input.

Eventually we'll get there, but as of today very, very few pieces of the recording through media through player through display are 1080p/60 capable.

Although they are few in number, there definately are TVs that accept 1080p/60. I own an HP MD6580n which accepts 1080p/60, 1080p/30, and 1080p/24 over HDMI. I'm looking forward to avoiding judder introduced by 3-2 pulldown when I get to feed a 1080p/24 signal to my TV.

Pioneer has a 50" plasma out in the UK in June that will accept 1080p 50/60hz. Around £6,000 so not cheap. Sony also has a 46" set capable of accepting/displaying 1080p 50/60hz. Can't remember when exactly, or whether plasma./LCD, but definitely soon.
