I've never seen this one, but I remember this cover on the old VHS tapes ages ago in all the old mom and pop video stores. I always thought it was a cool cover and tagline but never rented it for some reason.

I admit that I've never seen this either but Richard Johnson, Joseph Cotten, Mel Ferrer and Cameron Mitchell represent some pretty heavy-weight acting talent. They may have been past their prime but they had serious credentials.

Plus Barabara Bach...and the fact that Scorpion does some of the best genre transfers* in the business make this an easy blind buy.

*I own every Scorpion Blu-ray except one.

I've never seen this, but as I recall, the cover art and tagline supposedly have nothing to do with the actual content of the film.

Screamers is new edited footage to Island of the Fishmen...the only way to see it as originally shown is Mya's DVD release. I havent seen Screams so I cant say if its better or worse..but I think of Godzilla 1954 with Raymond Burr scenes added to the original film...

This might have been why I always avoided it. I remember looking at the box several times, but always put it back, probably because either the description of the film or the screenshots on the back of the box didn't seem as interesting as the cover suggested.

I was one of 4 people who bought that Mya Island of the Fishmen DVD. Haven't gotten around to watching it but I did spot-check it and thought it looked very good PQ-wise. Should be interesting comparing that version to Scorpion's US cut. AFAIK it's mostly just a prologue that was tacked on to the beginning of the film. Not sure what the distributor who added the footage was going for but those scenes supposedly have nothing to do with the main body of the original film. It'll be nice to finally have both versions of the film, though.

I guess, not bigger (or necessarily smaller) than anything else horror-related he's done on blu.

Wow i own the uncut Italian version and i saw this as a kid and thought it was creepy Italian stuff.

Does this movie remind anyone of Island of Dr Moreau meets Black Lagoon?

Rare case where I love both covers but that alternate one is great. It's going to be tough deciding which one to use

I'd prefer the other Screamers, but this looks like my kind of movie. I'll pick it up.

Agreed. I always loved the main artwork but the alternate art is also pretty amazing. Pretty awesome to have a choice of 2 different great covers.
