Ivan Engler and Ralph Etter's Cargo (2009) has received a preliminary release date: July 5th. (Note: Current German release is English-friendly).

Ah, sadly not the demented Peter Mullan/Daniel Brühl film but this is still a film I'm looking forward to watching.

I was reading about this movie on another forum, it sounds quite good, I believe the sets achive a real scale of vastness.

ok i purchased this movie and just arrived today. I can confirm its region B. it did Not play on my region A player.

and the audio is German LPCM 2.0 with english subs

Confirmation:

This Blu-ray disc is encoded in 1080/50i (the back cover incorrectly states 1080p). Therefore, by default, it is to be flagged as Region-B "locked".

So the German version was 1080p? What the hell was the excuse for the UK version then? Not that 1080i50 is that bad other than the speedup that I personally am too tone deaf to notice - it deinterlaced easily, and I don't think any modern player or TV gets caught by it.

So far all that has been released up here in Canada has been the DVD.

I know this is an old thread, but as there been any anouncement regarding a region A release, or at least region-free? Space movies are so much nicer with apropriate blacks !

I'm quite tempted to try buying one of the "untested" releases. There are a few that have been confirmed as "locked", but some others are listed as untested in regions A and C. If it doesn't work I can always sell it back on EBay
